The New Mexico Public Education Department released statewide assessment and school performance data for the 2023-2024 school year. What does the data reveal?

Statewide Performance

Statewide reading proficiency is at 39%, a slight increase from 38% in 2022. Statewide math proficiency stands at 23% down from 24%. This means only 2 out of 5 students are reading at grade level, while slightly more than 2 out of 10 students are on grade level in math.
